This morning, the snow came down heavier than ever. Luckily, I don’t have any lectures on a Wednesday, as the bus services would probably have been affected. I just hope I’ll still be able to make it in tomorrow. My Mum had to walk into work this morning, as she couldn’t possibly cycle in this weather.
So, I took the opportunity to take some pictures with my new camera. It can also take short movies (restricted by the size of the memory stick), with sound as well. So I made a short film of me walking round the garden looking at the snow. I’ve even uploaded it to my site, so you can see it in the Windows Media Player box below.
I did also make a higher quality version of the film, but it’s 15mb, which is far too big to put on this site. The one I have included below is only 792kb, so it hopefully won’t take too long to download.

I’m sure I’ve used that title before in the past!! But I’m so relieved now because my presentation is now over and done with. This morning I had to do a presentation about my final-year project. I’d been preparing for it for weeks, and I was really nervous.
I think it went OK, although maybe I spoke a bit too fast. I was nervous the whole way through. After I’d finished, one of the lecturers said, “You didn’t need to finish at exactly 12 o’clock on the dot” and that made me want to laugh. After that, I think I managed to answer the questions quite well – I didn’t have any trouble thinking of answers, as they were mainly asking me to justify points I made in the main presentation.
My presentation was the last one held in the morning, and afterwards one of the lecturers said that the standard so far today was high, but I wasn’t given any personal feedback. I won’t find out my marks for at least another 2 weeks.
Now I have to worry about my 5,000 word essay, oh, and my 50 page final report too. Not forgetting my exam revision as well. We are expected to be able to do EVERYTHING!! Guess you won’t be seeing much of me online over the next few weeks, but I’ll still try to blog at least once a week.
In other news, it’s been snowing here (the east of England) over the last couple of days. This has been our first proper snow of this winter.

Today was my actual 21st birthday, so I could open all my presents! My main present from my Mum and Terry was a new digital camera (it’s the first time I’ve ever had one of those) and a brand new printer to go with it. The printer is quite a bit faster than my old one, and the quality of the printouts is much better. I also got many presents from my friends, such as some chocolate, a couple of teddy bears with “21 Today” written on them, and a new bracelet. I’m very pleased and thankful for my presents!
I actually had a 9am lecture this morning, which meant I had to open all my presents early in the morning, because I was too excited to wait until the afternoon. I was worried about missing the bus, so I was going to go without breakfast and buy a cereal bar instead, but my Mum insisted I have my breakfast before I leave. I didn’t have time to finish the whole bowlful, but at least I still got the bus on time (with about 30 seconds to spare, that was lucky)!

In the end, I had my birthday party last night and not Saturday night, as that was the only time all my friends could make it. It was really good, for my main meal at the Old Orleans restaurant I had Cajun chicken and fries, and mango ice cream for dessert. I also had a vanilla milkshake. After that we went ten-pin bowling, which was exciting because they were celebrating the 5th anniversary of the bowling alley being open, and they had all the glow lights and disco music on. It had a really good party atmosphere, and I enjoyed it more than in previous years.
After our 2 games of bowling had finished, 3 of us went on to the nightclub. (Not all my friends like nightclubbing, so the others returned home).
So all in all, it was a really good night, and it helped to take my distressed mind off all the constant studying we are expected to do at the moment!
For when my actual birthday comes round on Tuesday, my Mum said she has got me a surprise present. I wonder what it will be !!

Not a lot has happened this week, but I’ve been preparing for my 21st birthday party arrangements. I turn 21 on 15th February, but I will probably end up having the party on Saturday 12th February, because that’s the only day when all my friends can make it. This is the first time I’ve had to have the party before my actual birthday. It will seem weird, as people will give me presents at the party, but I won’t be able to open them then and there. But I’m really looking forward to it. We are planning to have a meal at the “Old Orleans” restaurant, go ten-pin bowling, and then some of us might go clubbing afterwards.
Last week we booked our holiday to the Lake District (same as where we went last year), and we will be going for 2 weeks in August. They sent the confirmation letter yesterday so I was happy, as I was getting worried we hadn’t booked early enough.
That’s about it for now.
